Safeer and Golden Chicken sign a solar project in Saudi Arabia under the PPA model
Riyadh, April 23, 2025 – Safeer, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Zahid group, has signed a PPA agreement with Golden Chicken that includes the installation of solar power plant at their site in Saudi Arabia. This project underscores the shared commitment of both parties to advancing renewable energy within the Kingdom.
With an installed capacity of 5.18 MWp (4.13 MWac), the solar plant will contribute to clean energy production. The facility is expected to generate over 13 GWh annually of renewable electricity, marking a significant step toward reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources and achieving Golden Chicken’s environmental goals. Furthermore, the project is expected to help the Kingdom avoid 6,710 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, reinforcing its contribution to a greener future.
The project incorporates reliable and proven technology. A total of 8,160 PV modules will be installed, paired with inverters to ensure optimal energy conversion. Additionally, we will implement a solar tracking system, enabling panels to follow the sun’s movement throughout the day for maximum efficiency.
This collaboration between Safeer and Golden Chicken highlights their joint contribution to Saudi Arabia’s national vision of expanding renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions. Together, they are committed to supporting the Kingdom’s efforts for a sustainable energy future.
